Vocational Training

The vocational training program being organized by NSS – IIT Kharagpur with funding from Society for Self-employment of Unemployed Youth, Kolkata is continuing at villages around IIT Kharagpur. Six such programs listed below have already been completed. The seventh one is nearing completion as well at Purba Sikarpari, some 3 km farther south of Benapur, a village adopted by Unit 7. More than 215 unemployed young men and women have benefited from the program so far. A few of the trainees have already started their own business on tailoring, plumbing, 2-3 wheeler repair and mobile repair.
