National Service Scheme (NSS) IIT Kharagpur

The following pictures give a glimpse of recent activities of two NSS, IIT Kharagpur units in Balarampur, Purba and Paschim Patri villages. In one, science experiments were demonstrated by NSS volunteers in village school. They also conducted school level competitions to encourage talent. In the other unit, besides school level activities, village youth are given ICT awareness, there was a rally and campaign on health issues.

This year we conducted many health camps across different units. Most of them targeted village school students who the NSS volunteers cater to. The largest one was held on 30-3-2013 at Pariapara village. The camp started at 8:30 AM and ended at 3:00 PM. A total of 229 villagers were served. IIT Kharagpur campus community donated unused but usable medicines. Wholesaler in district town Midnapore was approached to meet the rest of the requirement. We worked together with IEEE EMB Society members housed in SMST, IIT Kharagpur and our IIT hospital for this. The following is a visual walk-through, submitted as report by a student lead member, on how they organized the medical camp and its various segments.
